Vehicle detail page (VDP)

Definition

A vehicle detail page, or VDP, is the dedicated web page for a single vehicle in inventory. It typically shows a photo gallery, price, mileage, VIN, trim and options, a description, and a lead form or "check availability" button. In dealer and marketplace analytics, "VDP views" is a headline engagement metric: it measures how many shoppers moved from a search results list to a specific car.

Why it matters

The VDP is the point of conversion. A shopper reaches it with intent, and the gallery is the first thing they judge. Research across automotive marketplaces consistently shows that listings with more and better photos earn more VDP views and faster sales.
