Vehicle detail page (VDP)
A vehicle detail page (VDP) is the single-listing page for one specific vehicle — its photos, price, specs, and call-to-action. It's where a browsing shopper decides to inquire, and its imagery does most of the persuading.
Definition
A vehicle detail page, or VDP, is the dedicated web page for a single vehicle in inventory. It typically shows a photo gallery, price, mileage, VIN, trim and options, a description, and a lead form or "check availability" button. In dealer and marketplace analytics, "VDP views" is a headline engagement metric: it measures how many shoppers moved from a search results list to a specific car.
Why it matters
The VDP is the point of conversion. A shopper reaches it with intent, and the gallery is the first thing they judge. Research across automotive marketplaces consistently shows that listings with more and better photos earn more VDP views and faster sales. The photos at the top of the gallery — the hero exterior shots — carry the most weight.
- Photos are the hook. A clean, consistent gallery keeps a shopper on the page instead of bouncing back to search.
- Consistency signals quality. When every car's VDP uses the same background and framing, the whole catalog looks curated.
- Compliance is visible here. Un-blurred plates on a public VDP are exactly what privacy rules and marketplace policies target.
How AutoStudio relates
AutoStudio produces the imagery that fills a VDP gallery. Send raw lot photos to the API and get back background-replaced, enhanced, privacy-safe images — every angle of the vehicle treated identically for a coherent gallery. Because AutoStudio enforces per-vehicle-set consistency, the hero shot and every follow-up photo share the same backdrop, so your VDPs look uniform across the whole lot. Automatic plate and face blur means the images are safe to publish. For the strategy behind a converting gallery, see how to photograph a car to sell and how many photos a listing should have.
